Dixie only had one litter of pups, a male and female. Lace was one of them. Dixie survived an allergic reaction to a distemper shot at age one which left her with a damaged kidney. We did not know about this at the time or she would never have been bred. She was spayed after her litter. The vets only gave her 2 years to live but a friend suggested I put her on a diet of grains and greens. She is now 11 years old and still going strong!
